How Earthfall works

Everything you need to survive your first days โ€” jumping in, the world, crafting, and the SOL economy.

01 Getting started

Earthfall runs in your browser โ€” no install. It's free to play.

  • ๐Ÿ”—
Connect a Solana wallet to create your survivor and save your progress. You don't need to hold any SOL to play.
  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ
Just browsing? Hit "Watch the town" to spectate the live world with no wallet at all.
  • ๐Ÿง
Pick a starter survivor โ€” Wanderer, Caveman or Nomad โ€” then name your character and drop in.
You only ever spend on cosmetics and mystery chests, in SOL. Nothing you buy makes you stronger โ€” Earthfall is never pay-to-win.

02 The world

A single, persistent world that keeps running whether you're online or not.

Your home camp

Your private base. Build stations, store loot in chests, and grow crops. Upgrade it as you level up.

Biomes

Travel the world map to pine forests, quarries, copper mines, iron deposits, the lake, and the end-game Lands of the Dead โ€” each with its own resources and dangers.

Raids & the horde

  • โš”๏ธ
Base raids โ€” scout rival camps on the map, breach them under a timer, and haul off their loot. Shield up before they hit back.
  • ๐ŸงŸ
The horde โ€” rage builds and zombies march on your camp. Fight solo or rally your server to hold the line.

03 Crafting & gear

Gather raw materials, then turn them into tools, food, gear and stations. Tools and armor come in tiers and wear down with use โ€” repair or upgrade them at the anvil.

  • ๐Ÿช“
Tools โ€” axe, pickaxe, sword and fishing rod. Higher tiers gather faster and hit harder.
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ
Armor โ€” helmet, chestplate, boots, tiered Fiber โ†’ Copper โ†’ Iron.
  • โš’๏ธ
Stations โ€” workbench, campfire, furnace, anvil, lab and more unlock the recipe tree.
Full recipes, ingredients and tiers live in the Cookbook โ†’

04 The economy

Two currencies, one honest rule: power comes from playing, not paying.

Emerald โ€” the in-game currency

Earned by playing and trading. Sell your haul on the player market, set your own prices, and build up Emerald from other survivors.

SOL โ€” real, and optional

  • โ—Ž
USD-anchored โ€” chests and skins cost a fixed dollar amount; you pay the live SOL equivalent.
  • ๐ŸŽจ
Cosmetic only โ€” survivor skins, Volt tool skins, stickers, mystery chests. No stats, ever.
  • ๐Ÿ’ง
Cash out โ€” sell your Emerald to other players for SOL, or withdraw SOL you've earned from drops.

05 Earning real SOL

Beyond selling Emerald, real SOL can drop straight into your bag as you play.

  • ๐ŸŽ
Mystery chests โ€” an open can drop SOL.
  • โ›๏ธ
Mining iron ore โ€” an iron block can drop SOL when you break it.
  • ๐Ÿ’€
The Lands of the Dead โ€” any block in the end-game biome can drop SOL.

A drop lands as a claimable SOL token in your bag โ€” it's never stolen on death or in a raid. Collect it from your inventory's Tokens area.

Withdrawals have a $5 minimum โ€” smaller amounts stack up until you cross it. Cashed-out SOL is sent to your wallet by the treasury and can take a little while to settle.

06 FAQ

Do I need to buy anything to play?
No. Earthfall is free, and everything purchasable is cosmetic.
Do I need SOL in my wallet to start?
No โ€” you just connect a wallet to create and save your survivor. You only spend if you choose to buy cosmetics or chests.
Can I really earn SOL?
Yes. Sell your Emerald to other players for SOL, and rare SOL drops can land in your bag from chests, mining and the Lands of the Dead. Withdraw from the Tokens area (min $5).
Is my gear really mine?
Yes โ€” every tool and armor piece is its own instance with its own durability. List it on the market and another survivor gets that exact piece.
What happens if I die?
You drop a grave in the biome with your carried goods โ€” you (or anyone) can return to loot it. Earned SOL tokens are never dropped.
